McDonald’s flagship restaurant in Grafton Street, Dublin reopens after €1.5 million digital transformation.

McDonald’s Ireland reopens its flagship restaurant on Grafton Street, in the heart of Dublin, following a major refurbishment and investment of €1.5 million, creating an additional 30 jobs for the city centre.

The Grafton Street restaurant, which was McDonald’s first in Ireland when it opened in 1977, will provide customers with an even more family-friendly experience, ensuring it is the perfect place in the Capital to enjoy a quality meal and friendly service!

The Grafton Street restaurant, which has been owned and operated by franchisee Amir Asfar since 2017 is consistently the busiest McDonald’s in Ireland, employing over 120 people at present. A newly adjusted layout will result in an increased capacity from 285 to 305 seats .

Speaking about the restaurant reopening, Amir, who operates 10 other McDonald’s restaurants in Dublin and Wicklow, said: “I am very proud of the major changes we have made to our Grafton Street restaurant. As the busiest McDonald’s restaurant in Ireland it is important that our customers can access the best family-friendly facilities and services on offer. The new self-order kiosks allow customers to make more personalised food choices, which we know is what customers are looking for. We are particularly excited about some of the behind the scenes changes taking place in the kitchen, which will ensure that we continue to serve made-to-order meals using the best quality ingredients, in the most efficient time possible.”

The revamped outlet will now feature a host of new digital facilities, all designed with changing customer needs in mind including: table service, an indoor kids digital play table with Samsung Galaxy tablets, and touch screen self-order kiosks, which will deliver a more customised and efficient service for customers. New technology also extends through to the kitchen, adapting how the food is prepared and served so that products are made specially to order, using freshly prepared ingredients.

Like all McDonald’s restaurants across Ireland, the beef, bacon, milk, water and eggs served in McDonalds Grafton Street will be 100% Irish. McDonald’s Grafton Street will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
