DublinTown and Jameson have teamed up to bring you part two of the Jameson Pursuit of Possibilities which reveals our list of five hidden gems highlighting some of Dublin Town’s most treasured and unique establishments. Take a visit to any of these hidden gems and you are guaranteed a night to remember.

grogans Grogan’s – Grogan’s became a favoured meeting place for cutting-edge Irish writers such as Patrick Kavanagh, Flann O’Brien, J.P. Donleavy, Liam O’Flaherty in the 1970’s. The bar today regularly supports book launches and poetry readings. As well as supporting the literary arts it supports the visual arts. Grogan’s exhibit original art pieces, including sculpture and paintings by Irish and International artists, all of which are for sale. So why not get a drink and view the surroundings.

 

pygmalionPygmalion – Opening its doors in 2009 at Powerscourt Townhouse Centre on South William Street, Pygmalion is relatively new to Dublin. A trendy spot that offers music 7 nights a week from both resident and guest DJs. Enjoy breakfast or lunch at the Pyg Café or avail of their evening tapas menu at the bar or on their lovely outdoor terrace.

 

 

stags headThe Stag’s Head – A hidden treasure located off a passageway on Dame Street, The Stag’s Head is probably Dublin’s best preserved Victorian pub, with its authentic Victorian décor capturing a sense of hidden Ireland. The trad sessions are a must to experience and savour some true, traditional Irish music.

 

 

lost societyLost Society – Located in the vibrant South William Street and Creative Quarter area, Lost Society is an ideal venue for drinks and socialising where you can admire the décor and grandeur of the Georgian rooms within the 18th Century mansion Lost Society calls home.  If you’re up for a good night out, Lost Society also hosts an eclectic mix of club nights with top class DJs and music throughout the week.
