ZELDA
Fast Intent Presents Zelda. A new play based on the life and writings of Zelda Fitzgerald. PREMIERES June 3rd - 14th @ Theatre Upstairs. Zelda Sayre started out as a Southern belle, became an international sensation, and died by fire in a psychiatric hospital. Alongside her husband F. Scott Fitzgerald, she helped to define the Jazz Age; talented, indulgent and free. Fast Intent brings her exhilarating story to the stage in this new, one woman show by Eddie Naughton. From her hospital room, Zelda recounts the years spent in New York and Paris, summers on the Riviera, nights with Ernest Hemingway, Dorothy Parker, Cole Porter. Zelda was the life and soul of the biggest party of the twentieth century, but with those highs came the lows of alcoholism, mental illness and thwarted ambition. Zelda was the first flapper, a socialite, a fashion icon, a wife, a mother, a dancer, a writer, a painter as well as Fitzgerald’s muse. Don’t miss this chance to enjoy the extraordinary life, the biting wit and the tragic end of a true original.
